If you are looking for a job, then your chances of finding one are greater in Scotland than in the rest of the UK. The Bank of Scotland's report on jobs, found the Scottish labour market has seen the fastest rise in permanent placements since October.
For the rest of the UK, things aren't looking so good. Even though the economy shows some signs of recovery, the labour market is still very weak with unemployment now at its highest in 16 years, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics. But companies are still hiring. One of the good signs is that more jobs were created in the private sector than lost in the public sector.
